Simenschy and India Conference was held at the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi.

A Conference 'Simenschy and India' was held at the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iași, to honour the legacy of Prof. Theofil Simenschy, Indologist and exquisite scholar, and to celebrate his 130th birth anniversary. The Conference was held in collaboration with the Embassy of India, Bucharest and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania. The opening remarks were delivered by Dr. Tudorel Toader, Rector of the University, Ambassador Shrivastava, Mr. Andrei Luca, Director of the Directorate of Cultural Diplomacy, Education and Science, Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Dr. Ioan Milică, Director General of the Mihai Eminescu Central University Library, Iasi, the event being moderated by Dr. Daniela Cojocaru, Vice-Rector for International Relations and Study and Research Partnerships. The Conference started with the intervention of Dr. Roxana-Gabriela Curcă (Faculty of History), followed by those of Dr. Adrian Poruciuc (Faculty of Letters), Dr. Iulian-Gabriel Hrușcă (Faculty of Letters) and Dr. Hilda-Hedvig Varga (Cultural Assistant, Embassy of India, Bucharest). After the Conference, Ambassador Shrivastava visited the Mihai Eminescu Central University Library, Iasi, where an exhibition dedicated to the works of Prof. Theofil Simenschy was inaugurated. The exhibition is also available virtually and can be accessed at: http://www.bcu-iasi.ro/Simenschy-130
