The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), an autonomous body, established under the APEDA Act, 1985, is mandated with the responsibility of export promotion and development of scheduled products as provided in first and second Schedule of APEDA Act, which comprises of 18 Product categories, covering more than 700 products at 8- digit level like Fresh Fruits & Vegetables, Meat and Meat Products, Poultry and Poultry Products, Dairy Products, Honey, Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic Beverages, Cereal and Cereal Products, Groundnuts, Cashew Nuts and Its Products, Basmati rice etc.
The above product portfolio covers nearly 52% of India's Agri exports and APEDA facilitates the Promotion of export-oriented production and development of its Scheduled products by various means. One such important measure is organizing the participation of its exporters in various Agri & Food fairs in International and National events and organizing Reverse Buyer-Seller Meets RBSM's).
With regard to the above, one of India's largest international Agri and Processed food fair is the World Food India (WFI), organised by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MOFPI). Till date, the Ministry of Food Processing Industries has hosted two editions of World Food India (WFI), in 2017 and in 2023, which have been a great success.
The last edition of the WFI, held in September 2023 saw a huge success across the Agri & food sector with wide participation of 1000+ International buyers, 80+ countries, 28 states, 50+global CEOs and 15000+ B2B and B2G meetings. In this regard, at the outset APEDA would like to extend its gratitude in thanking the Embassy/High Commission for identifying and recommending suitable importers/ buyers to the event, who besides attending the fair also participated in the Reverse Buyer seller meet, which was organised. by APEDA.
This year also, APEDA is collaborating with the Ministry of Food Processing Industries in establishing a large pavilion for our exporters and also organising a Buyer- seller meet in the third edition of the World Food India, 2024 which will be organized between 19th to 22nd September 2024 at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. We would once again solicit the same support from your esteemed office for identifying and deputing business delegation comprising prominent buyers, importers, retail chains related to the Agri and the Processed food sector, to attend the WFI 2024.
APEDA will provide the business delegation boarding and lodging and will ensure their optimal participation in the event.The details will be shared with the selected companies.
