     RENUNCIATION OF INDIAN CITIZENSHIP:

Any Indian citizen can renounce his/her citizenship by making a declaration in the form XXII specified in rule 23 of The Citizenship Rules, 2009. The application Form has to be filled only on the online portal of MHA at “https://indiancitizenshiponline.nic.in”. The applicant has to submit the following documents, in person, at the Embassy. The applications will be accepted only with a scheduled appointment (click here for an appointment):

  1.  Declaration of Renunciation of Indian citizenship
  2.  Application for Surrender of Indian passport
  3.  Current Indian passport for physical cancellation
  4. Temporary Resident Card of stay in Romania/Moldova
  5.  Citizenship Certificate of the acquired nationality
  6.  Current foreign passport
  7.  Two photographs as per photo specifications  
  8.  Application Form for Consular Services
